Signature Travel Network: Leading the Way in the Return of In-Person Travel Events

As a content creator for travels.edu.vn and a travel industry expert, I’ve observed firsthand the dynamic shifts in how professionals connect and collaborate. For event emcees and entertainers like myself, this means a significant amount of travel. In recent months, the resurgence of in-person events has been incredibly energizing, and one organization stands out for its commitment to bringing people together in a meaningful and impactful way: Signature Travel Network. It’s refreshing to engage with a group that not only understands the value of travel but also champions its power to connect and inspire – unlike explaining my travel-heavy lifestyle to just anyone!

Signature Travel Network distinguishes itself as an exclusive collective of premier travel advisors worldwide, encompassing experts in land and cruise travel, and luxury hospitality. Recently, I had the privilege of emceeing for their landmark 2021 Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, an event that gathered over 1500 travel advisors from across the globe. Being a part of this significant industry gathering as the professional event emcee was truly an honor.

Witnessing one of the largest and most successful returns to in-person events in recent times was inspiring. Hosting and entertaining the dedicated professionals of Signature Travel Network was a genuine pleasure. Furthermore, the conference organizers entrusted me with the exciting challenge of curating a bespoke variety show for the event, allowing me to showcase some of Las Vegas’s most talented performers.

From the heart of Las Vegas, let’s explore the key elements that contributed to the resounding success of the Signature Travel Network 2021 Conference and what makes this network a pivotal force in the travel industry.

Prioritizing Safety in the Return to In-Person Events with Signature Travel Network

Having emceed numerous post-COVID events, I’ve seen the varying approaches organizations have taken to navigate the return to in-person gatherings. While virtual and hybrid events have become valuable tools (and I’m a strong proponent, even creating a detailed hybrid event checklist!), the eagerness for fully in-person experiences is undeniable. However, ensuring both safety and comfort for all attendees has been a primary concern.

Signature Travel Network’s 2021 Conference excelled in this regard, demonstrating a meticulous approach to health and safety protocols. As the emcee, I was tasked with opening the conference by clearly communicating the COVID-19 guidelines available in the event mobile app. In accordance with Nevada’s mask mandate for indoor events in Las Vegas, mask-wearing was consistently observed. This commitment to safety didn’t diminish the atmosphere; instead, it fostered a palpable sense of joy and confidence as travel professionals reconvened safely in Las Vegas. Signature Travel Network successfully created an environment where attendees could focus on networking and collaboration without compromising their well-being.

Las Vegas: The Perfect Venue for the Signature Travel Network Conference

The choice of Las Vegas as the location for the Signature Travel Network 2021 Conference was particularly significant for me, as it’s my home base. This event marked my largest return to hosting a full-scale, in-person conference in Las Vegas since the onset of the pandemic, making it a truly special occasion. It was an honor to welcome such a distinguished group of experienced travel advisors to my city.

The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, encompassing The Palazzo and Sands Expo Convention Center, served as the central hub for the Signature Travel Network conference. Each morning, attendees from Signature Travel Network gathered at this premier venue for conference sessions and collaborative discussions. The strategic scheduling also allowed travel professionals to seamlessly attend IMEX America, conveniently located next door, in the afternoons.

IMEX America, a leading trade show in the meetings and events industry, attracts over 50,000 participants and 2,200 exhibiting companies from over 200 countries. Key exhibitors include major hotel chains, cruise lines, tourism boards, and event management specialists. By hosting their 2021 Conference in Las Vegas, Signature Travel Network provided its members with unparalleled access to both their own focused event and the expansive resources of IMEX America, maximizing the value and opportunities for attending travel advisors. This strategic location underscored Signature Travel Network’s dedication to providing its members with access to the most comprehensive industry resources.

Engaging and Informative Sessions for Travel Professionals at Signature Travel Network

Throughout the two-day Signature Travel Network event, my role extended beyond corporate entertainment to facilitating meaningful engagement. A highlight was the opportunity to emcee a question-and-answer session with Alison Metcalfe, EVP of NA for Tourism Ireland. Our discussion covered a range of topics relevant to the travel industry, from Ireland’s resilience during the pandemic and its culinary offerings to the renowned Irish “craic” (fun and good times).

Similar to my experience moderating the “Sports and Sustainability” conversation at the 2021 Xylem Reach Conference, the Q&A with Alison Metcalfe allowed me to contribute as an emcee who enhances content, not just provides entertainment. For me personally, speaking with Alison was also a chance to connect with my Irish heritage – I’m proud to say I’m 50% Irish! The session proved to be insightful and engaging for both myself and the attendees, demonstrating Signature Travel Network’s commitment to delivering valuable and relevant content to its members. This focus on enriching sessions underscores why Signature Travel Network is highly regarded in the travel industry for professional development and knowledge sharing.

Signature Travel Network’s Dedication to Memorable Experiences: The Custom Variety Show

A particularly rewarding aspect of the Signature Travel Network 2021 Conference was the opportunity to curate a custom variety show specifically for their attendees. Knowing the conference schedule was packed with sessions at the Venetian and visits to IMEX America, I recognized that a traditional Las Vegas show outing wouldn’t be feasible for the group.

Therefore, I embraced what I do best as a Las Vegas entertainer – bringing the best of Las Vegas entertainment directly to the event!

Leveraging my network as a Las Vegas emcee and entertainer, I have access to a wealth of talent on the Las Vegas Strip. When the Signature Travel Network event planners requested a special entertainment piece for the final dinner, I immediately knew how to create something unforgettable. I assembled an electrifying lineup for a custom variety show, designed to leave a lasting impression on the Signature Travel Network team.

The variety show featured an exceptional roster of performers:

  1. Enji: A remarkable contortionist from Mongolia, previously featured in Cirque du Soleil’s Zumanity at New York New York, captivating audiences with her breathtaking flexibility.
  2. Vladimir Dovgan: A master of rola-bola balancing from Ukraine, who has toured with Cirque Dreams and performs in Vegas shows like V and Zombie Burlesque, showcasing incredible balance and skill.
  3. The Skating Aratas: An exhilarating roller-skating duo known for their gravity-defying stunts, headliners of “V: The Ultimate Variety Show” and a personal favorite, delivering high-energy thrills.

The custom variety show was a resounding success, enthusiastically received by the Signature Travel Network 2021 Conference attendees.

“Jeff was an amazing part of our conference. He brought incredible energy, entertainment and structure. We ran on time, he was always ready to pitch in, and everyone really enjoyed working with him. Looking forward to next year!”

– Alex Sharpe, President/CEO at Signature Travel Network
