CORNING — South Tehama County is facing an economic shift as the TA Travel Center in Corning has announced its impending closure. This news marks a significant change for the local community and the many professional drivers who rely on this location.
According to a company spokesperson, the decision to close the TA Travel Center Corning location is part of a continuous evaluation of their business portfolio. The spokesperson stated, “Like any successful business, we are constantly evaluating our portfolio to ensure we are operating in locations where it makes sense for our customers and our business. In this case, we have a business location located directly across the street.” This suggests that the proximity to the Petro Corning location played a crucial role in the decision to close the TA Travel Center Corning.
Adding to the changes at the Petro Corning location, the company announced that a KFC restaurant will soon be opening there. This development aims to enhance the amenities available at the Petro location.
The spokesperson highlighted the existing services at the Petro Corning for professional drivers, stating, “Professional drivers also have access to six TA Truck Service maintenance bays, Emergency Roadside Service, 14 diesel lanes, 10 showers, a CAT Scale, laundry facilities and many more amenities to help them feel they have a home away from home.” These amenities at Petro are intended to continue serving the needs of truckers even after the Ta Travel Center Closure Corning.
