The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks provides this exceptional service at Travel Town Museum. You can reserve a beautifully restored train car exclusively for your birthday party or even business meetings for a nominal fee. Imagine the excitement of celebrating in a piece of railway history!
Travel Town offers:

Party Car Details:
- Rental Fee: $200.00 for a 3-hour period. This includes a $50 refundable cleaning/damage deposit and $150 for the basic rental.
- Time Allotment: The 3-hour rental includes your setup, party time, and cleanup. Please plan accordingly to maximize your celebration within the allotted time.
- Amenities: Each party car is equipped with essential amenities for your convenience:
- Tables and chairs to comfortably accommodate your guests.
- A refrigerator-freezer to keep refreshments and treats cold.
- Air conditioning and heating to ensure a comfortable environment regardless of the weather.
- Car Options & Capacity:
- Pennsylvania Dining Car (Brown Car): Comfortably seats 20-30 guests, ideal for medium-sized parties.
- Southern Pacific Car (Green Car): Can accommodate 30-40 people, perfect for larger gatherings.
- Available Time Slots: Parties can be booked daily, including weekdays and weekends, during the following time slots:
- 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Important Reservation Information:
- Advance Booking Required: Party reservations must be made in advance to secure your preferred date and time. Popular dates book up quickly, especially during peak seasons.
- Cancellation Policy: A $75.00 cancellation fee applies to all cancellations.
- Rainy Day Policy: Travel Town understands that weather can be unpredictable. They offer a full refund in the event of rain. However, it’s crucial to contact the Travel Town office on the day of your event if you wish to cancel due to rain. Failure to notify them before the end of your scheduled day will result in a “no-show” status, and the standard cancellation fee will apply. Rescheduling requires a new reservation process via the lapark.org/traveltown website.
