Valencia Travel Village boasts an impressive number of sites, offering 303 full hook-up sites and an additional 78 partial hook-up options. Beyond campsites, they also provide RV storage solutions, catering to various traveler needs. One of the first things we noticed was the undeniable freshness of the facilities. The entire resort presents a modern and meticulously maintained environment, suggesting recent construction or very diligent upkeep. Everything felt new and in excellent condition, a welcome change from some of the more dated campgrounds we’ve encountered.
During our brief stay, we occupied site B9, a full hook-up site. The pull-through design was incredibly convenient, allowing us to keep our truck and trailer connected for our overnight stop. We appreciated the ease of simply releasing hitch tension and disconnecting the electrical hookup, perfect for a quick in-and-out visit as we prepared for some boondocking ahead. We took advantage of the full hook-ups to handle tank maintenance before heading off-grid.
While the sites at Valencia Travel Village are somewhat compact, we found our site B9 adequately sized for extending our slide-out. Although perhaps better suited for shorter stays, the width was sufficient and we observed a mix of both transient and longer-term guests. Notably, even the longer-term RVs were well-kept and tidy, reflecting a higher standard compared to some parks where extended stays can sometimes lead to less maintained rigs.
The ground cover of pea gravel at each site was a definite plus, along with neatly maintained grass patches separating the spaces. This was a pleasant change from the muddy conditions we had experienced in Northern California. The presence of a picnic table at our site added to the convenience and usability of the space. And, thankfully, the drier Southern California climate meant less of the persistent dampness we’d been dealing with.
Arriving after hours was surprisingly smooth. A friendly and helpful attendant at the entrance guard shack handled our check-in efficiently. This positive after-dark check-in experience, coupled with the easy pull-through site, made our late arrival stress-free – a rarity for us as we usually prefer to arrive during office hours.
One aspect to note is the campground’s bright lighting. While enhancing security and visibility, it is quite illuminated at night. Fortunately, our RV’s blackout shades effectively blocked out the light, ensuring a dark and restful sleep. However, light-sensitive sleepers might want to consider this aspect.
